Visiting Jeans Street of Kojima

City of Kojima in Okayama is known as the Mecca of jeans. The town used to be famous for school uniform manufacturing. After WWII, American jeans industry came to Japan and the city took the most of the opportunity using its clothing production background, and it has obtained today’s reputations as denim capital.

When you arrive at Kojima station, you will be so happy to see everything is dedicated to jeans; the station itself, the bus terminal and even vending machines.

Jeans street is located 10 minutes from the station by bus. The street is literally the jeans Mecca, hosting more than 30 Japanese jeans shops.

The town has denim mills, sewing factories, processing factories and jeans warehouse. Just overwhelming to be there if you love jeans.
